You have come to the end of your thread and your wondering how to secure it. This method works for both cross stitching and embroidery.
Bring your needle under a few stitches at the back of your fabric. Loop back over a couple and bring your needle back under them but don't pull it all the way through. You should be left with a loop. Put your needle through the back of it. For a small number of threads (2-4) do this twice. I have used all 6 strands so you can see it properly so I'm just going through once. Pull it through gently and this should form a knot, securing your thread.
